Hello! I am planning a day trip to Hydra from Athens.
Should we arrive at 9:35am or 11:40am in Hydra?
Should we leave back to Athens at 4:10pm or 8:40pm?
My main concern is that one return time may be too little time and the other too much time? We would like to walk the harbor and the town, enjoy a leisurely lunch. We would probably enjoy jumping off the nearby cliffs. An extra trek would be to go to the nearby monastary by walking or donkey to see the the views.
Please help. Thank you!
Depends on what you want to do.
You could take the 10AM arrive in time for lunch, wander the shops and take the 410PM back and have dinner in Athens
OR
If you want to see more of the Island , take the earlier boat do more wandering/walking, have dinner and take late boat back.
You will no have "too much time", for a day trip
I guess you are saying that walking the town, walking the harbor, having lunch and going to the nearby cliffs for diving would need more time, so returning at 8:40 would be the best thing (we can have dinner in Hydra too)!!?!!
Spending more time in Hydra would be better than spending it in Athens?
And while you're there look out for the new bench dedicated to Leonard Cohen.

Hydra has no shortage of places to eat.
"Spending more time in Hydra would be better than spending it in Athens?"
Kind of like asking if apple pie is better than chocolate ice cream.
No right/wrong answer, just what you are in the mood for. Small town on an island or big city.
