I will be arriving in Athens at 7:30am on Tuesday June 2nd and plan to stay in the airport and take a flight to Paros the same day. My first flight will be coming in from Boston. What time, roughly, would be ideal to schedule the flight out of Athens to Paros? I'm sure customs will take some time (there will be 5 of us) and I'd want to build in time for any delays. Advice? Thanks!
If they are 2 separate bookings, plan for 3 hours to clear customs and immigration and check in for second flight. If it is a single booking, 2 hours would be ok.
In theory, a connection time of 2 to 2.5 hours is required for a flight to an island. This also depends on whether you have checked baggage to collect or not.
If you really want a good safety margin, allow 3 hours. It's better to wait an hour for your next flight while visiting the airport bars, restaurants, and shops than to miss it by 5 minutes because your incoming flight was delayed, especially if there are five of you.
Passport control can take some time. You don't need to worry about customs, just take the "Nothing to Declare" exit and go up to the Departures level towards boarding gates B...
Thanks! There is an 11:15 flight so that should work perfectly without any stress. Thanks again.
