How long is the drive from Athens Airport to Delphi?

Did RS tour bus from Acropolis area ( not airport): made one stop on the way to Delphi.

google maps showing 2.5-3.hrs. I would plan 3- 3.5 hrs of drive time. That way you do not have to feel pressured. Add for any stops you make. My rule of thumb is add 10% to the google estimate

How long it will 'actually take' on the Tuesday you arrive, is unknowable.

Are you planning to do this the day you arrive from Calif?

Thanks! We will be doing this part of the trip after flying back from Naxos, mid-trip, picking up a rental car at the airport around 4 p.m., so I was wondering if we might arrive in time to walk the site a bit before it closed at 8.

JWR, when you ask good advice, it is thoughtful to "recap" key information ... It makes heckuva difference whether you're driving in Spring or Fall. If going in mid-September onwards, we'd all say no no, because your last 30-45 minutes could be mountain driving in dusk or even dark. I had to click on your name & look at previous posts to find out your dates... and you never really gave them, only the headline about May Day was a clue that you'd be driving at a time when its' light until 9 pm or later.

The last entrance time is 7:40 pm. It closes at 8 pm. So if it takes you 3+ hours you won't have much time to see Delphi that same day. We spent 2.5 hours to see the museum and the actual site. There is a lot of uphill walking. Suggest you book a hotel there and see it early the next morning before the tour buses arrive.

And Janet: I clearly did not appreciate the complexity of my question nor the amount of effort you might undertake in response to what I, apparently mistakenly, thought was a simple question.

I think I have what I need now, but to "fill in the blanks": we will be making this drive mid-week in May 2024 in a rented car from Athens Airport. We will be staying in Delphi overnight and plan the bulk of our visit in the morning. I was trying to figure out if we might be able to get a peek when we arrive in the evening, as I understand there are several parts to explore.
