How do you search the forum for specific topics?

I'm confused as to how to search the Greece forum for specific topics (Aegina, etc.). It doesn't seem self-evident. Can anyone tell me how?

Denny, you cant just Search one specific Forum, but if you put your term in the hard-to-see light gray Search box at the very top of this page (on a computer), it will Search everything on the website. Then you can restrict it to just forums. I dont know how this looks on a phone.

Go to Tripadvisor.com and type in Aegina Greece. There is a specific forum for Aegina.

I would do a Google search. Type whatever key word AND Rick Steves. It's more efficient than using the search tool on this site.

The search function on this site works just fine.
After typing in Aegina, I was shown a long list and given choices to narrow down.

After years on this forum, I just learned something new on the forum about searching for a specific subject!

That really helps narrowing down what to look for rather than "hoping" you'll find something!

Thanks!

Me too! I totally overlooked that light-gray bar on top -- and have been posting on this forum for over a decade, and hve often been frustrated in finding a disappeared post on a key topic. Wow! Rick Steves organiaztion needs to hve a talk with its web designer! And while at it, what about the annoying feature of "disappearing thread"?? When you click to add reply to a posting with many answers, ALL of them disappear, so you can 't refer to any in your reply. This never happens in travel forums like Fodor's Travel talk or Trip Advisor. The Steves forum has many advantages but this is a BIG disadvantage ... along with th maximum-length thing. ah well.

I couldn't find that light gray search box. But if you go back to the RS home page, there is a general search box for all forums. Is that the one you mean?

Denny it shows up on every page on this website that I see including the one I'm looking at right now. I have a MAC. At the upper left, there is a box with the logo in a blue box "Rick Steves'
Europe"

and right next to it is the gray Search box with the magnifying glass symbol. But yes, as I said, you cant just Search in one forum. The Search function will look through the whole website, but it will be All Forums.

I just did a Search on Aegina, and see 215 mentions of it in the Forums, probably all in the Greece Forum. No mentions outside the Forums.

Denny,

every implementation of this website is slightly different depending on the device you are using. So finding the search function is different depending.

I have some Windows laptops, an iPad, an Android phone and an iPhone and they are all a bit different.

If you can't see the Search box easily I expect that you are not using a Windows device. What device are you using, how old is it, and which browser are you using?

Yes, there is one general search for the whole site.

On my tablet, and on my phone, there is a little pattern of 5 horizontal lines on each page. When I click that the search spot is at the top of the column.
