Use Booking.com to research hotels, once you have figured out what is moderately priced for you, go to the hotels’ own websites to make reservations. Everyone has a different view of what moderately priced means - for me it would be $150-$200/night preferably including breakfast. Also depends on where staying - popular resorts or tourist sites will likely be more expensive than smaller towns and villages.
We just stayed at the Hotel Marianna in Nafplio as part of the Greece tour.
It appears that they recently underwent a great renovation. The rooms were immaculate and best of all were the bathrooms. It was amazing to have a great walk-in shower that didn't flood the floor. The sink had plenty of storage and great new fixtures. The best bathroom on the tour!
One drawback for me was a mattress that appeared older and I felt as if I'd roll off. But I was the only one among the 27 people who felt that way. Maybe it was due to having 2 separate small beds in the room.
The owners are very attentive and the entire experience pleasantly quirky. Stairs will be an issue if you have mobility issues - no lifts.
There's a curious room that Rick Steves always books known as the "cave" - no windows and a bed on platform with stairs. This was intensely disliked by one of our group so you may want to avoid that room!

Use the Rick Steve guide, pick a few, go to Expedia, etc and see write ups, etc. Then send an email to hotel(s) you thinks you like. Let them know you’re using the RS book, ask for best price, credit, and or cash. Be sure refundable, etc.
We do that every trip for past 13 years and haven’t been disappointed yet.
We agree with staying at Pension Marianna in Nafplio. We have twice and loved the whole experience. But definitely stairs - lots of stairs from below or above (fewer). Parking is above the pension next to an abandoned building on the road to the AkroNafplia Castle/hotel. Tight and not always room. Alternate parking usually available on the road going to AkroNafplia near the beginning next to a park. Don't try to drive to the bottom access as road is narrow with no parking. The Zotos brothers and families are absolutely the best of hosts.
