Greetings - we are going on RS Greece tour in 2024. We will fly to Santorini at the end of our tour for a few days. Based on what I have read, Fira is best place to have a home base. Any suggestions on hotels for 4 couples? Thanks!

We stayed in Firostefani at Lithies Traditional Homes which is just a short walk on a path to Fira. Amazing views and less crowds than Fira!

We just finished our stay at Sunset Hotel in Firostefani. Highly recommended! Incredible view, amazing staff.

I arranged my visit to Santorini through one of the Greek travel agencies recommended on Matt Barrett's website. This was one of the hotels recommended by the agency, and the one I chose - https://www.nissosthira.gr/ .
The hotel was in a great location and walking distance to many restaurants, etc. The room was very comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
I also took the RS Greece tour, and toured Santorini and Naxos after the tour ended. The Greek travel agency also arranged ferry tickets, transfers, etc.

If you are going in high season, Firostefani or Imerovigli are quieter options. Fira is too busy for our taste

We stayed at Pantelia Suites in Fira. A very quiet place with beautiful views of the Caldera. Literally, a walk around the corner and you were in the action of Fira. I really enjoyed our stay here.

Just returned from Santorini. Fira is crazy busy. Had the most wonderful, quiet stay (two couples) in Pyrgos Kallistis at Voreina Gallery Suites. https://www.voreinasuites.gr/
Pyrgos was the perfect homebase to explore. We were so glad to come "home" to it after being at the other busy places on the island.

We are on the RS Greece tour right now. We came early and spent two nights in Santorini. We stayed at the Villa Reno’s right on the caldera. It came recommended by RS book and it was amazing. We had our own patio and watched the sunset without the crowd. just Spectacular!! I’d email the hotel to see if they have 4 rooms. And book soon. :) have a great trip.
