Hotels in Delphi and Monemvasia

We are spending 2 nights in Delphi and 1 in Monemvasia in April. Any recommendations for a hotel in these 2 cities?
Thank you

My experience was 5 years ago, but we were very happy with Pithos Rooms (I think I'm remembering the name correctly.) in Delphi. Our room was of decent size and very clean. The breakfast was nice. The owner speaks excellent English; and he was extremely helpful to us. His wife, whose English is limited, is very gracious. This is not a fancy place, but it's very comfortable and reasonably priced.

Rosalyn, thank you for your suggestion - it was my first choice as well. Unfortunately, I started planning our trip too late and Pytho is not available anymore. We narrowed our choices down to Hotel Leto or Pan Hotel.
Any experience with one of them?

I don't know the Leto or the Pan but we have stayed several times in the Acropolis. Fairly central - well most things are in Delphi! - and great views.

In 2012 we stayed at Hotel Athina. In Monemvasia we stayed at Kritikos Rooms which is actually on the mainland in Gefyra with a view to Monemvasia rock. You can check them at booking.com.

Hotel Pan in Delphi was where I was directed by a Trip Advisor DE who actually lives in Delphi ... We were very pleased. It's just 100 yards or so from the Bus stop, on the downhill side of the main street. In May '11 I paid I think €30 for single rate. The owner asked, is this main floor OK? Uh, I said doubtfully, let's see the rooms first. We walked back on a corridor, into a room, onto its balcony and --- hawks were circling BELOW us!!! The view was straight down the mountainside, to an olive-grove plain, to the sea. No problem! The rate included Continental breakfast at the early time we requested (7 AM), so we could stroll leisurely to the ruins site to enter at 8. When we had checked in at 4:30 PM, our hotelier also had tipped us off to the best sequence (which may not be available to you in April). He advised going first to the Museum, right then, because it was open until 7, and would be virtually empty ... and then to go to the site first thing in the AM, since the bus tours arrive about 10. Excellent advice.

Thanks much to all for your suggestions - we were able to reserve Pan Hotel.
Janet - this is your second advice I am following in a past few days. May be I should ask you to plan the rest of our trip ... :)

I was in both of those places last July. I really liked the Hotel Leto in Delphi. www.leto-delphi.gr they own 3 places in town and they are all great. I look at all three incase I return. In Monemvasia I didn't stay in the city center but stayed at Hotel Panorama. It was fine but if I did it again I would stay in the city center.

Our family just stayed at New Malvaisa Hotel in Monemvasia. It's the newest one on the rock. I highly recommend it.

I have stayed twice at Hotel Fedriades, once alone and once with teachers and students. Very nice place to stay, easy to find, short walk to the archeological site, GREAT view, and the usual breakfast. I plan on staying there again this summer.

Thank you all for your input.
How long is the walk from the parking lot at the gate to the New Malvasia Hotel in Monemvasia?

The walk from the gate to the New Malvasia Hotel is only 5 minutes at most. Maybe more like 3. It's a pretty small place. If you have heavy or bulky luggage, it may seem longer. If you just take a small bag or backpack with what you need for the night, it is a short stroll.

Be aware that the streets are cobble stone and roller luggage doesn't work well. Also, in the summer it gets very crowded so the bigger/heavier the luggage, the more difficult.

Enjoy. It's definitely worth the visit and the Hotel is an excellent choice.

I really liked Hotel Panorama in Monemvasia (technically in Gefyra on the mainland). The rooms were clean and very comfortable and they served a nice breakfast. In Monemvasia and other parts of Greece, you'll need to buy bottled water, and also get used to the "WC etiquette".

I can't remember which hotel I stayed at in Delphi. Would have to check my notes.
