We need recommendations for hotels, in old town of Chania preferably, but other location nearby is fine.
Thank you,
Marcy
We loved Elia Palazzo on Theotokopoulou street. Amazing breakfasts, comfortable rooms. Rooftop lounge area with great views. Perfect location.
We stayed at the Elia Palatino, 4 years ago this month. It’s right at waters edge on the old harbor, with fantastic views off of the private balcony. Breakfast was excellent. Elia owns several hotels, all with “Elia” in the name.
A downside, which may or may not still exist, is a bar/disco at the east edge of the small, old harbor. Their thumping bass couldn’t be shut out by closing the balcony door, and went long into the night. I can’t believe that any other hotel in the same harbor neighborhood wouldn’t also fact been afflicted by the loud, droning bass
Elia Palazzo is a street UP and BACK From the Harbor, on THeotokopolou STreet (a flagstone no-cars lane). I have stayed there, AND at 3 other plaaces along that lane, over the years, and can testify that it is serene at night... there are NO nightclubs there, and no noise reaches there from the harborside.
