I can easily recommend the Aetoma Hotel. Central location on a quiet street, walked everywhere. Within minutes of checking in, we were served coffee and cakes on our balcony. The room was quiet, spacious, large bath, very comfortable. Breakfast was more than we could eat. But the mother son team running the Aetoma are its greatest asset. They could not have been more helpful nor kind. The morning of departure, she gave us advice on our bus trip back to Athens. 15 minutes later, her son approached us while we were waiting for the bus...mom had sent him down to be certain we got it right! Nafplio is very pretty itself, and there are several historic sights nearby.

Here's a second for Aetoma. Everything the poster said above echoes our experience.

I have a number of other suggestions, based on 6-7 stays in Nafplio, but first, I'm still waiting for what the first responder asked for: WHEN exactly are you going, for how long, what's y our budget range per night, and any special conditions -- some lodgings are at sea level, others are up a steep cliffside, and thus it also matters whether you'll have a rental car or coming via public transit. Do you want a sea view? a balcony? Stuff like that. Karen please share more.

I'll second Ken's recommendation for the Hotel Marianna.
It was the hotel that the RS Greece tour used on my tour in 2009.
The rooms varied from quirky to gorgeous, but I think everyone was comfortable.
The views from the breakfast deck were beautiful and I remember how friendly and helpful the staff was.
There were a lot of steep stairs, so that would be a concern if anyone has mobility issues.
Happy travels!

Here's a 3rd for the Hotel Marianna. We were actually in the room with the 2 sets of doors onto the balcony that is on the home page. Fantastic! There are a lot of steps and I struggled with them, but went one at a time and got up and down okay. The staff did our laundry for about the same price as doing it ourselves or having it done elsewhere.

We liked this place just west of the center, overlooking the harbor. Although it advertises a bar and restaurant, they were not operating in October. Breakfast was very good, though, and the staff friendly and helpful. About five minutes' walk to the main square in the pedestrian area, but you can drive up to the hotel itself. .

Karen ... are y ou there, Karen? When are you coming? Are you driving or taking public transport? (Marianna is a tough vertical hike otherwise). What's your budget? You need to tell us more than 6 words.

A third for Aetoma, which is hands-down the best boutique hotel I've ever experienced.
