I am heading to Crete in late September with a friend and am looking for recommendations for a hotel. Hoping they also serve breakfast as part of our stay. We will be arriving by ferry and are planning to take tours out to historical sites.

We enjoyed the Hotel Galaxy, lust a few blocks from the historic district - much quieter and calmer. Great buffet breakfast inside or on the terrace, lovely pool, clean, modern rooms. Wonderful restaurants nearby.

We enjoyed the Dom Boutique Hotel. Excellent service, immaculately clean room, great breakfast.

A reasonable-price ideally located place is Hotel Kronos, right on the seafront promenade about 2 blocks west of the causeway to the massive Fortezza. Has some rooms w seaview balcony, buffet breakfast. A business hotel, so always busy Sept - May, so plan ahead.

We stayed at Capsis Astoria !
Location is excellent - few minutes wander and you’re in the “ old town “ section , 2 minute walk to the excellent Archaeological Museum, and 2 minutes walk to the bus that takes you to Knossos ! So location is excellent.
Breakfast included
Roof top bar and pool - pool is tiny , but views from roof top bar are amazing .
We have stayed there twice - so my only advice would be do not book the cheapest indoor view room - window looks out into middle of hotel and room had no balcony -
We had stayed there for 4 nights when we arrived in a nice room and decided to cancel our booking somewhere else and tried to it - however at that last minute they only had the cheapest rooms available and they aren’t as nice - too dark .
