Hotel Decision - Hera Hotel or Athens Muses Suites - your thoughts appreciated

Thank you everyone who posts - all your hotel information has been invaluable to me! I think I've read every post!
I am staying in Athens May 5-7, 2026 after a cruise and then I'm off to other Greece mainland adventures and a couple of Greek Islands before heading home. It's my first time (and probably last time) in Athens, and I've been stressing (and working on ) finding the "right" hotel for me. I chose to stay in Plaka. I was hoping for an acropolis view, room balcony, comfortable bed/nice linens, Coffee/frig in room, a lift if more than 3 flights of stairs and Very clean is a must. I'm fine with small, but I like things to be nice and in good condition. I was looking to pay $300/night at most, but maybe since I'm so late in booking, this made it harder. Based on availability, I'm down to 2 choices and would welcome anyone's thoughts or help if you are familiar with these places or their locations.

- Hera Hotel Standard Room with Acropolis view and balcony is a little over my budget, but it checked all my boxes and then some. As many of you know, Hera Hotel is located SE of the Parthenon near the museum.
- Athens Muses Suites - Superior Suite on top floor (3 flights of stairs, but they help with luggage so works for us) with large furnished terrace and Acropolis views from both terrace and suite windows. This Aparthotel is in Plaka, NE of Parthenon at Kyrristou 13. This checked all my boxes and is within my budget.
I'm wondering if one area of Plaka is better than the other for the view of Acropolis/Parthenon? Is one area of Plaka better than the other for convenience of site seeing? Other thoughts?
Thanks you very much.

From a convenience and walking distance perspective, the two places you found are equivalent.

Near both, you'll find plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants.
Anyway, all the places in Plaka and some of the surrounding neighborhoods (Koukaki, Thisseio) are well-located for visiting Athens.

Without having stayed in either of these places myself (but in Airbnbs very close to them), in terms of peace and quiet and overall location, I would personally prefer Muses over Hera.

The Hera hotel is our go-to hotel in Athens. Stayed there twice now. Great location. You can walk to the Plaka from here.
Our last RS tour stayed at Acropolis view. It's further south, but a good compromise if you can't afford or get a room at the Hera.

After much research we decided on the Hera Hotel. We get off a cruise in October and are staying 3 nights.

Jolui I appreciate your insight on the locations.
Also, thank you for the other responses.
I did look at Acropolis View (there are many recommendations for that hotel in this forum), but there are no rooms available for my dates. I also looked at all the hotels in the RS book and those I found recommended on this forum. I was a little too late getting going on my accommodations and there wasn't too much available that I liked.
I have two rooms in hotels that I like - a room at the Hera (I agree it is a nice Hotel) and I have a room at the Athens Muses Suites (also looks lovely with great reviews) and I'm trying to decide which to keep and which to cancel. Is one a better location for site seeing and access to restaurants? Both rooms have balconies and views of the acropolis and both hotels have rooftop terraces with views of the Acropolis - so I'm wondering if a view from the North or the South is a prettier Acropolis View? It's my first time in Athens so although I can pick out a hotel, I have no experience with the city.

Thanks again.
