i will be visiting Athens for the first time at the end of ocotober 2019 for 3 days.My main goal is to.see the Acropolis museum and the National Archeological museum.Looking for a hostel near to these museums. My main goal is to see ancient Greek sculptures/art.Any other places i shouldnt miss for this type of art?
Thank you for your help.
Hi! I just spent a few weeks in Athens. I stayed at Hotel Attlos. It is downtown close to the market. And within walking distance to all the sites you mentioned. The wifi is rough though. But it has a nice rooftop bar where you have a clear view of the Acropolis.
Here is the google maps of the location.

Like I said I really enjoyed it other than the wifi being slow. But for three days it should be perfect.
I stayed at Hotel Attalos as well this summer, good for an inexpensive hotel, but I think the OP wants input on hostels, not hotels. I didn't stay in a hostel in Athens, so I have nothing to contribute there.
Closest hostel to Acropolis Museum is just 3-4 blocks away, great location. http://www.backpackers.gr rated "best of Athens" for hostels in LP 2019. IT also has a building next block that's all apartments, BUT you can rent a room in an apartment. Get busy, contacting because this popular place fills up fast. I don't know of any hostel near Nat Arch Museum. That's at the north fringe of Central Athens, away from the major landmarks & other museums. Easier to walk there or get a taxi for €5-6. those 2 will have major statuary... for pre-historic "minoan-era" sculptures, go to Cycladic Museum -- Excellent!!. On this map (click and it gets huge, navigate via side-slides) http://www.orangesmile.com/destinations/img/athens-map-big.jpg - the Acropolis Museum is #24 just to South of Acropolis --- N.A.M. is #46, Near top Rt of Map, Cycladic is #51, above Natl Gardens on Vas Sofia. Steves website (under Watch read Listen) has FREE stepby step downloadable audio guide to Nat. Arch. Museum.
Oh whoops! I just saw that is was hostels instead of hotels.
In that case, City Cirus (which is just a few blocks from Hotel Attalos) is a great option. It is the only hostel in Athens I have stayed in so I have nothing to reference it too. But I've stayed in plenty of hostels in Europe and this one was really good and cheap!
thank you everybody...Janet, i booked per your reccomendation at the AB.
