We will be staying in Chania for 7 days. I would like to hire a private driver ( since we will be 7 people) for 2 day trips: Knossos and Rethymnon city / Apokoronas. Through internet searching I found the site Taxi4crete. Has anyone used this service? Can you recommend a service? Thanks.

We are visiting Greece in May and have decided to use a company called Ellin Car for day trips to the areas you mentioned. Have a look at their website https://www.ellincar.com/ They receive good reviews and their prices are reasonable when you factor in your limited time and transport costs.
