hike on Nea Kameni, Santorini

Hi all,
As our trip to Oia is getting closer, I'm working a list of things we'd like to do. Our choices are different as we are traveling with our 8 month old son (for my sister's wedding in Oia). I was looking at taking the boat to Nea Kameni and doing the hike. We will be bringing the backpack carrier for our son. Just wondering how feasible this may be? I'm worried the heat would be the primary issue, but if we went early in the morning, I'm thinking it shouldn't be too awful. We live in south Alabama right on the Gulf of Mexico, so we are used to heat & humidity. :)

Thanks in advance!
Angela

Oops. That should read 18 month old son. Don't know if that makes a difference or not :)

Hi Angela - When exactly will you be there? I was there in early May last year and the weather was not as warm as I thought it would be - It's in the 60s and fairly windy so I don't think the heat should be an issue unless it's an oddly hot day. Of course still bring sun screen and water, though. We did the Nea Kameni hike and if you are reasonably fit and used to doing a decent amount of walking around with your baby in the carrier then it shouldn't be an issue. I struggled with the hike a little bit but mostly because I was stupid and did not bring any water.
