We're visiting Crete in June 2018. We were hoping to do a day sail out of Chania harbor with a small group of people (e.g. 10 or less), or just us. We are experienced sailors but don't have bare boat sea experience, so need a skipper. Reading Trip Advisor it appeared that we could book through Orizon or Notos and sail with a small group. After exchanging email with both companies, it seems we can do that but they are only offering the entire boat at around 400E and there are just two of us. It appears that those companies are not prepared to facilitate combining groups of people to reduce the costs per person. It looks like we probably can't afford to book an entire boat by ourselves, but it seems like splitting the costs among several people should work, so we are still looking for a small group scenario. Has anyone done this sort of thing and have advice? I've already spent quite a bit of time researching this but haven't figured this one out yet.
P.S. the cruises that advertise 'endless alcohol' aren't what we are looking for : )
Hm, if no one has ideas maybe a local travel agent in Chania could help us. Diana Travel looks good. Does anyone have an agency in Chania that they like?
This isn't the kind of thing Diana's Travel helps with.
This company will do a 1/2 day charter evening sail out of Chania, 435E for up to six people:

There are companies leaving from Chania harbour that will do these sort of trips. Apologies that I don't know their names, however if you go to the harbour office (it is just past the 'mosque' heading from the Venetian harbour towards the fishing harbour area) they will be able to advise & you will see the day-sail boats. You'll be able to book for the following day/s.
Thanks, jwugg! That's really helpful.
