Just wondering if this is a good place to stay for 5 days. We love the beach, authentic food and exploring. This will be our first time in Greece. We are planning on perhaps driving to Chorefto after 2 days in Athens, and before a week in Crete. Thanks.

I have stayed there, but more than ten years ago. At that stage it was a very quiet little place with mainly Greek holidaymakers. There’s a nice sandy beach and we liked Zagora, the mountain village above Chorefto.
I’ve been back to the Pelion more recently, but again not for about seven years, and it’s very beautiful. At that stage it was still pretty undeveloped.
On both occasions we were there it was in September and both times we had quite a bit of rain. We may have been unlucky but I suspect there’s a reason it’s so green!
The seafront at Volos is a nice place for a meal if you’re passing at the right time of day.
