My husband and I will be in Greece starting April 20th. We will be staying near the Plaka in Athens. We would like to observe/participate in the festivities surrounding this important religious holiday. We are looking for suggestions about which cathedrals are best to visit, where to position ourselves to view the pageants on Good Friday, and if there are any restaurants known to serve traditional Easter dinner on Sunday. We leave for Turkey on the evening of the 24th of April to fly to Istanbul and join the Rick Steves tour there on the 25th. Thanks for any suggestions or knowledge about Greek Orthodox Easter you are willing to share.
