Greek Isles in early Spring 2016

Flying into Santorini on March 28 and departing Athens on April 8. First time in Greece. Any suggestions for a family of 4 with two older teens?

Two suggestions: first, get a copy of RS Greece Guide Book if you do not already have it. It can be purchased elsewhere on this web site. second: for your information, go to RS tours and click on his Greece Tour and then click on its itinerary to see where that tour goes. I took RS Greece Tour in 2014 and really enjoyed it. Lots of walking, great guide who co-wrote RS Greece Guide Book. Hope you enjoy Greece.

Focus your plans on activities not associated with sun, sea or sand, because most likely it's going to be cold, cloudy and damp (if not raining), especially out on the islands.

You'll be there during off season and very early spring. Depending on what country you are coming from it could be a lot milder or colder than your country. Having said that there will be a lot less tourists and prices will be lower. Temperatures should be around 13-15C or upper 50sF so not bad if you are not expecting a dip in the Aegean!

World Class archeological sites not only in Athens but on Santorini, lots of tavernas and shopping too. Santorini is visually stunning but is over-touristed but when you go it will be a lot quieter.

Athens is Athens . . . a city of millions but there is just a small area of Athens that most tourists go too so it's very walkable and you should have a great time.

I would recommend Matt's Greek Guide on the web for one of the best sites for anything Greece!
