Hello two of us are going on a bible study tour of Greece And turkey.
We need to arrive in Thessaloniki the evening of october sixth.
Is there a beautiful, relaxing island with nature, hiking and beaches- no glitz
that is accessible to thessaloniki for 3 days before our trip?
I don't know enough of the geography of Greece to have any ideas.
I also don't know how easy in country flights would be if we did not land in Thessaloniki.
I appreciate any ideas.

From Thessaloniki you can take a flight to Lemnos or Skyros.
Lemnos is in the North Aegean Sea while Skyros is in the Sporades Islands.
These two islands are not very well known but are worth the trip. Skyros even has a little Cycladic feel.
