When you're in Nafplio. It's well worth it to drive southwards via the coast to Monemvasia. It's a hidden gem. 1 hour from Monemvasia there is also a beautiful small island (Elafonisos) with some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.

Where will you stay in Crete? Keep in mind that it's a big island and you can't drive very fast on most of the roads. To give you an idea from Chania till Iraklion is about 2h30. So if you spend only 2 days in Crete, you won't be able to see much. But if you want to visit an island Santorini probably makes the most sense. It's pretty close to Crete. Naxos/Ios would also be an option.

Crete is wonderful. We spent 11 nights there last May and could have spent more time there. I would spend all my island time on Crete.

Skip Hydra. Go to Paros or Naxos or add that time to Crete. It depends where the wedding is but for extra time, there stay in Chania.
