I received a fine for not having the correct train ticket to the airport. I didn't have the cash to pay it then and now I am back in the US. How can I pay this fine now that I am back in the US? Today is the 10th day and if I pay it today, it will be half the price.
Thanks.
Annoying. I remember this issue very clearly, as we were in Athens 2019.
How much is the fine? What does the ticket say? If the ticket is in Greek, I believe that you can take a pic on a cell phone and use Google Translate to translate.
Maybe this will help? https://www.oasa.gr/en/passenger-service/information/payment-of-fines
The fine is for 72 Euros, but if you pay it within the first 10 days it is only 36 Euros.
I looked thrift that link earlier and I tried to do some of the things they said on there, but they didn't work. I was looking for other ideas.
Thanks.
No help on the 'how to pay' now question.
I am surprised the enforcement agent did not have a way to accept a credit or debit card payment from you when you were stopped.
I'm not sure if I am missing something here. You are given an IBAN number for payment of the fine. Your US Bank Account may not have an IBAN number (I don't know) but is your bank not able to make an electronic payment to an account with an IBAN number.
IBAN means International Bank Account Number- so presumably really does mean that.
Is today Day 10 on Greek time or on US time?- if on Greek time then it is now all but midnight anyway (2336)
I think that last post about the IBAN # helped. I went on to my online banking and did an International Transfer and I think it worked. In my original post, I stated that it was day 10, but I was wrong. Day 10 is Oct 14th, so if I did the transfer today, hopefully they get it in time. We shall see what happens. Thanks for your help.
