Greece places

I’m thinking about moving to Greece for year maybe two. And I have also a question related to it.

Could you reccomend a good place to live there?

I was on Rhodes, Chalkidiki, Athens and surroundings, Samos, Leptokaria. And to be hoest Samos was the best but as a all small islands it might have a problems wich supplies or energyblackouts. I spoke about it on Rhodes and they have the same.

I heard that Porto Rafti is quite cool to live.

Basically I’m looking for mid size city with only single requirement - good internet connection as I work remotley.

This forum is very useful for people planning Greece trips. However, you need more in-depth information (including official info as well as opinions) if you plan an extended stay. The needed information is not only for desirable locations but even the feasibility ... staying more than 3 months requires strict qualifications. You need to google "longterm residence in Greece Advice" which will likely bring up a number of websites by ex-pats. You might also include your nationality (US? Canada?) in y our search terms -- because requirements differ for EU and non-EU. This forum isn't the best start for your search, but I do wish you the best of luck, and am envious of your aspiration!

Since you are talking about remote work, know that EU or non EU citizens can apply for a Digital Nomad Visa letting you live and work in Greece hassle-free. It gives you legal residence as a remote worker for up to 1 year, after which you can apply for a Digital Nomad Residence Permit if you want to stay longer.

This Digital Nomad status comes with restrictions.
You will find all the information about it here:

What a good link, JoLui! Remote certainly has taken over.... My son's job is remote full-time, and his team lives in 10 different states!

Thessaloniki is a great city to live in (I lived there for a year), though it might be bigger than what you are looking for. Awesome food options, there's always a lot of people out and about eating in cafes, strolling along the promenades, etc. It's also the transport hub for northern greece, and it's easy to catch a bus or train elsewhere.

Kavala is a lovely smaller city, though I don't know what it's like to live there.
