Greece local tour guides

Hello gang, of fellow travelers,

My husband and I will be cruising the Greek islands in early May. Since time is limited on each island, we would like to get local tours guides and not use Viator or other big companies. Is there a way to find local guides for the various ports? Or can you recommend any guides you have used in the past? We will be visiting: Santorini, Athens, Mykonos, and Corfu.

click destinations and pick your island. look at tours offered and how long the tours are.
on mykonos we walked around, roaming up and down the alley ways seeing the locals out front sweeping, watering plants/flowers, waving with smiles, window shopping buying a few things, stopped at ocean front restaurant for an appetizer platter, greek beer & ouzo with 2 other couples from cruise. walked back to dock to board ship. loved mykonos, one of my favorites places
on santorini, we arrived late afternoon in windy conditions (tendered). it was packed & crowded, went up cable car to just roam around with views, alleyways, photo ops, shopping (friend bought large gorgeous pottery & shipped back to states!!) she was so funny and crazy, took 4 months to arrive LOL
stopped at a small family owned restaurant overlooking caldera with yummy food & wine. back down cable car and rough ride back to ship, was only their about 4 hours, not my favorite.

emailed them what we wanted or hoped for. we hired dimitri for about 5 hour tour, let him give us options for best of island. he was great to communicate with. met us at port and off we went. stopped at a kumquat liquor distillery for tasting and bought small bottle for souvenir. we then continued around to attractions, photo ops, short stops within small villages. back at port stopped at a restaurant for glass of wine and greek appetizers then walk to ship. it was a great day
we registered on cruisecritic.com years ago. found roll calls, ship & sailing date, posted for anyone to share tour, found another couple and booked it.

read up about athens and what you want to see and do. hire taxi company for private tour to places you hope to see, email them for cost in US dollars and length of tour. always tell them you need to be back on cruise ship. again ask fellow cruise if they want to share tour. we never went to athens.
go have fun, really enjoyed our cruise from venice few years back before no cruise ships in venice anymore.
