Greece/Italy trip

Hi,

I am traveling into Athens in the beginning of September and plan on staying in Athens/Greek island for approximately 10 days.
My return flight is approximately three weeks after I arrive and leaving from Milan, Italy, I am flexible regarding my visit. I was either thinking of visiting family in Gela, Sicily and then traveling up north but have no idea of what the best way would be to get from Athens, Greece,

Or flying from Athens to Rome and visiting towns on the way to Milan. I would like to visit some wineries in the Tuscany area.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you, Christine

It is usually both fastest and cheapest to fly from Athens to Italy. Rome is certainly an option, but also check Sicilian airports, if that's your plan. www.skyscanner.com is a good search engine to start with.
