Greece - internet/phone service

We are taking a private Catamaran around the islands in Greece mid-August. We are from US and our cellphone service is through Verizon. Will we have service in Greece? Should we look into some other type of coverage for our week on the Catamaran? If so, suggestions? We need basic service for walking/sightseeing and coordinating travel.

Unless you opt into the Verizon international plan (perhaps you intend to do this and
just didn't say it), you will not have any coverage to start.

Either add the Verizon intl plan (you will want to bone up on the ins/outs of it if you
haven't already), or get an international SIM/eSIM card to give you coverage.

The second aspect of this is your itinerary and timing. I would not expect great, if
any, coverage while you are on open water. In port, most likely should be fine, but
if you are in a fairly isolated village you may not have 5G or even 4G.

Peruse the Technology Tips subforum for more info. I will say that if I judged your
level of tech savvy from your post, you probably just want to do the Verizon thing.

I would also expect the catamaran operator to have some info on cell coverage
for the itinerary.

I use a Greek SIM card while traveling in the country.

They can be purchased at the airport or at stores in Athens or most other larger towns.

I use Cosmote which is I feel the best.

I've used it on ferries while traveling to islands and it worked fine.

Also in very remote and rural areas of the mainland.

You should be OK with a Greek SIM card.
