Greece in mid November 2025

Hi there.

My son and I are heading to Greece in mid-November and plan 2 days in Athens then heading to Delphi and Meteora... about 5 days. We still have another 5 days to plan. We thought the last night before we head home, we'd stay in Athens again. Wondering which way is best to go to the Peloponnese after an island visit or after Meteora? We would like to rest sometime and visit an Island so we think Hydra may be the best choice because of the time of year. The thing is I've been reading that things are closed in Nov. Does anyone have an itinerary suggestion for our last 5 days? Maybe a good island we can see for a day or two. I have to get in the water. Thank you

Well I hope you are cold hardy for water , as Crete is likely the warmest in November - and that would still be highs of about only 20 c

I had the same idea about visiting Hydra on November 1. It is close to Athens and the Peloponnese, so travel time is minimal. Crete is beautiful and warmer, but it take more time to travel back and forth from Athens. I decided to spend more time on the Peloponnese, though, because the ferry schedule becomes very limited in winter. I could only definitively identify one ferry in each direction (from Ermioni) each day, and the outbound leg was way too early to fit our itinerary. We are staying extra nights in Nafplio and taking day trips. Many hotels and apartments have beautiful ocean views over the port that give the town an island feel. Enjoy your trip!
