Greece for 7 days in Early May

I enjoyed Nafplio, driving rom airport car rental pickup location. I stopped on the way at Corinth Canal and at Nemea, a sacred site where games similar to the Olympics were contested.

I also enjoyed Aegina, an island about 45 minutes by ferry from Athens/Piraeus. It has a nice, inviting picturesque waterfront, an ancient temple, a monastery and WONDERFUL pistachios grown on the island.

Our first trip to Greece, the highlights were Meteora and Sifnos. We drove directly from the Athens airport to Delphi then, next day, on to spectacular Meteora. After Meteora we drove back to Piraeus and took the ferry to lovely, relaxing Sifnos. Would happily return to both!!

Delphi (great) and Meteora (great) are north northwest of Athens and the Peleponnese with Napflio, Mycenae and Epidavros (all also great) is west and south. When we went we splurged on a day tour of Delphi by bus from Athens on one day we were there to avoid the long drive after a long flight. Then we headed off to Napflio by bus from Athens to Napflio and rented a car at the hotel in Napflio to our around sites there. Bus back to Athens. The buses were clean and organized enough for us. Have fun!

Just a bit of advice experienced traveller to Greece make sure they do Athens last. Stuff can go wrong and you do not want to be stuck on a island on the day of your return flight.
You might want to look at Naxos as your island choice. It has a lovely main town, several good beaches, mountain villages and hikes.

Nafplio on the mainland is also a great destination.

Update! We have decided to go to Milos! Thanks for all the feedback. Maybe some of yall have gone there before?

I went to Milos, but since Milos is not my cup of tea compared to other islands I am curious to know what would make you choose Milos over Hydra or any other island?
