Greece (Athens, Santorini, Zakynthos) in December

Hi all,

I have already bought air tickets to Athens in Mid December for 8 nights (cheap airfare, and can only travel during this period). I intend to visit Athens, Santorini and Zakynthos.
I already did a search in this forum on these places to visit in December, but I don't seems to see any queries.
I know December is a lull period in Greece. So may I know if it is advisable to visit these places in December? Is it easy to travel by ferries to these places from Athens in December?
If not advisable, any advise where else can I visit instead?

Thanks in advance.

The Athens ferry port is named Piraeus. There are no ferries from Piraeus to Zakynthos. Ferries to Zakynthos depart from Killini, a port town on the western side of the Peloponnese. You can also fly there from the Athens Airport. There is a daily ferry at 07:00 or 07:30 from Athens to Santorini.

Islands in Greece are very quiet in December. Most tourist businesses will be closed although some hotels and restaurants do stay open all year. Don't expect warm sun, although you might get lucky. It might be raining, and in extreme circumstances you might see snow.

Zakynthos is probably not a good idea. Its a summer island. I woukd suggest to try sth like Meteora, Nafplio, Pelopponisos Monemvasia or Mani

Have a look

Thank you all for your suggestions. I know December is a bad time to visit Greece, but since I have already bought the air tickets, I think I will just see whatever comes. Will explore other islands instead, maybe.

Thank you.
