We know we can't see everything but want to stay long enough in each place to see the major sites. How does this timeline look?
Day 1- Arrive Athens
Day 2- Athens
Day 3 - Athens
Day 4 - Fly to Santorini
Day 4 - Santorini
Day 5 - Santorini
Day 6 - Fly back to Athens and rent car and travel to Nafplio
Day - 7, 8, 9, 10
Day 11 - PM Drive back to Athens Airport Hotel
Day 12- Homeward Bound
We will be renting a car in Santorini and Peloponnese
How does it look?
Tom, it looks good to me. You haven't tried to cram too many destinations into 11 days, you're flying to maximize your time, you are driving to enable exploring the fascinating Argolid area -- AND, you have chosen the IDEAL time to be in Greece. You actually "get more Greece for your money" because you have those wonderfully loooong days: sun won't set until 8:45 or so, it'll be light until way after 9. And you're in a perfect position to make the ultimate judgment required of Greek visitors -- where is the best sunset? The best-known venue is Santorini ... but for this longtime Greek traveler, the ultimate one is at the seafront in Nafplio. A long promenade of canopied cafes with super-comfy pillowed wicker loveseats ... decorative fishing boats, yachts and a picture-book castle out in the blue water ... clouds that turn golden over hills across the bay. Get there by 7:30 for a front-row seat for the Greatest Show in Greece. I'll not be there next June so lift a glass for me. Kalo Taxidi! (Greek for Bon Voyage).
Looks good to me, too. Be sure to go to your local AAA office to pick up an International Driving Permit, no test or membership required. Bring 2 passport photos to save a few dollars.
