From Paros to Naxos ? Or any other ideas ?

Hi we are flying into Paros from
Athens May 23 - have three nights booked there .

After that we have a blank 5-8 days . We have done Mykonos and only would use it as a transport hub stay - other than that we have done Paros once and naxos three times ( twice staying near at George’s beach and once by Aggia Anna , all wonderful stays )

Just looking for ideas of perhaps another island to visit . We are mature yet young at heart couple who like small town scenes ( cafes etc ) and nice beaches !

Travelling for 4 weeks so in a budget .

Any ideas ?

Thank you

From Paros you can try Sifnos, you will not be disappointed. Much quieter than Paros or Naxos, 1 hour from Paros by highspeed Seajets or 2 hours by traditional ferry

Beaches, beautiful villages, among the best hiking trails in the Cyclades, renowned gastronomy, all types of accommodation with attractive prices.

Much more interesting and authentic than Milos.

If you want even quieter see the small island of Kimolos, north of Milos. 3 hours from Paros by traditional ferry (not every day)

Attention, few accommodations. Plan to book ahead.

Other ferry options will certainly be available. May 2023 timetables will not be published until March

Have you visited Santorini? You can take the Blue Star Ferry from Paros to Santorini. I know Santorini is crowded and considered too touristy by some, but it really is a beautiful island. It is worth visiting for the stunning caldera views. I would stay at least 3 nights. You can rent a car for a day and travel around the island to visit the Akrotiri archaeological site, Akrotiri lighthouse, red sand beach and black sand beach. While the villages of Oia, Fira, Imerovigli and Firastefani are beautiful, the rest of Santorini is wonderful, too, and our day traveling around the island was one of our favorite days.

Santorini doesn't have to be expensive, either. We stayed at the Blue Dolphin Resort in Firastefani, and had a room with a balcony overlooking the caldera for $230 per night. We had delicious dinners at some reasonably priced restaurants, such as Aktaion.

Antiparos is very convenient to Paros. You can get there in as little as 15 minutes from Pounta, or in about 40 minutes from Parikia. If you've never been to Santorini it is certainly worth a visit. With 5-8 extra days you could visit both.

Antiparos is a great suggestion. Tiny, walkable, charming, some great restaurants. I suggest booking “A lazy day with Captain Ben” — a boat trip around Antiparos with stops for lunch & swimming. He stops at Paros too to pick up passengers.

You could spend a few days on Antiparos & then move on to Sifnos. Another low key, completely different island that you can reach with just a short ferry ride. Both of these islands give you a unique experience and are budget friendly.
