Food Tours in Athens

My friend and I would like to book a food tour in Athens in April. Can anyone recommend a good one?

When we were getting ready to go in 2020, I researched food tours through TripAdvisor. I saw many recommendations for Athens Walking Tours which I’m doing early the day of the tour. I don’t think it’s a huge foodie tour, but it sounds like it gives a lot of samples of popular Athens foods. Rick Steves also gives recommendations for food tours in the guidebook. They do have a full refund policy if it’s within a certain time. They were very prompt refunding our money in 2020.

I highly recommend booking a food tour with Kostas and Athens-Walks. He is an Athens local and knows the food and markets well, not a world wide food tour group. We went on tastings and in the large food market. We spent several hours with him. My Greek friends were pleased and amazed at the places we visited.

We're doing the food tour through Athen's walking tours. We look at Secret Food Tours and they only had private ones which were $250. Diana someone a celebrity chef also gives food tours and hers were $150 pp. Yikes

We used Athens Walking Tours in October 2021 and we had a great time. We would recommend.

I agree with the others who have recommended the food tour with Kostas and Athens-Walks. I did this several years ago and it is a highlight from all my travels. For reference, I've been on 14 RS's tours and traveled extensively on my own.

My husband and I are serious "foodies". We loved our Athens Downtown culinary tour with Culinary Backstreets. Constantine gave us an extraordinary introduction to Greek cuisine and Greek food history. We visited places known only by locals and places that have been preparing family dishes for 100 years. Absolutely delicious, delightful and educational. Come hungry!
