Food shopping: Naxos & Athens

Looking for recommendations for food purchases on Naxos and in Athens.

For Naxos (Agios Prokopios) - likely just breakfast items and snacks to keep in the room (will have a kitchenette)
For Athens (Psirri) - likely just light lunch items (will have a kitchenette)

Thinking bread, cheese, fruit, yogurt, olives, wine, etc.

Are there recommended shops? Preferred brands (for supermarket shopping)? Suggestions of food items to try that we may not think to purchase on our own?

We will be eating out often as well, but would like to be able to try local/Greek products on our own and have the option of having lighter cost-friendlier meals during the day as well.

Since we always stay in places with kitchens where we can prepare our own breakfasts and a few simple meals with fresh produce, here's some information:

There aren't many mini markets or grocery stores in Psyri, it's a neighborhood for going out on weekend evenings, more dedicated to restaurants and bars.
The best option is to head to the Municipal Market where you'll find absolutely everything you want in fresh produce: vegetables, cheese, fish, meat, olives, etc.

It's very close to Psyri, on Athina Street.

For bread, go to bakeries rather than mini markets. But I admit I don't know any in Psyri. That said, it shouldn't be difficult to find.

On the islands, we generally do our food shopping in AB supermarkets; there's one in Naxos Town.
The advantage is that they have a fresh produce section (local cheeses, meats, dairy products, etc.).

Near Agios Prokopios, there are several minimarkets/grocery stores as well as bakeries on the main road coming from Naxos Town.

My advice: Before going food shopping, wait to see what's left in the kitchens of the places you'll be staying.
There may be some basic items left over, such as coffee, sugar, cakes, oil, and various other products.

In Naxos, many bakeries in the morning offer "baguette sandwiches" of meat & cheese, plus either spanikopita, or tiropita (same with just cheese) that a great to pick up for picnic lunches, along with local fruit. In groceries that have a counter with an array of cheeses, do NOT miss trying Manouri ... a soft, fragrant cheese that's almost lunavailable elsewhere ... (doesn't travel well). I'm getting wistful just thinking of it.

A traditional Greek breakfast is the koulouri, essentially a bread ring but very tasty. They originated in Thessaloniki but are now popular throughout the country. A lot of the ones sold in Athens are baked at The Koulouri tou Psyrri at 23 George Karaiskaki (Γεωργίου Καραϊσκάκη 23) in Psyrri. Their shop also sells bread.

There’s a really nice traditional bakers on Sarri at the corner with Agias Anargiron. Excellent bread and nice sandwiches.
