Going to Greece in two weeks. Renting a car to visit Meteora. Is the highway on the way to Meteora open. i.e. Trikala area, where there has been major flooding?

I saw on another travel site today that someone who was to be on a tour to Meteora called the transportation/police and they said that the highway only went a certain distance and that the secondary roads were flooded and not passable to Meteora. I also plan to go in two weeks and am waiting to hear back from the hotel in Meteora for any updates before deciding what to do. Best of luck to you.

Please let us all know what the hotel says. I may have to cancel that part of my trip.

I’m heading there next week and received this reply from my hotel:
“Everything is fine in the Kalampaka-Meteora area! It is sunny today! We have remained safe! However, the catastrophe is huge in most parts of Thessaly!
Yesterday, some guests arrived from Delphi! They drove to Anavra, Karditsa, and then to Mouzaki, Trikala, and Kalampaka! They said it was fine! It took them longer though!
Please, make sure you consult the traffic police! Traffic is diverted through the roads I mentioned above by police on the highway”
Sounds like you should be fine, especially in a couple of weeks
