Interested in recent restaurant/food recommendations for the area of Firostefani , Santorini. We are staying at Homeric Poems Hotel and plan to enjoy what they have to offer but interested in other great food experiences close to that area.

Try Aktaion near Firostefani's main square. Excellent traditional menu.

If you want a change from Greek cuisine, Il Cantuccio is a nice Italian spot, right on the main road of Firostephani. Mylos Cafe combines good food w a good view. And if you want a nice sunset-viewing spot without the crush of standing along the rim path, look at STANI, toward the north end of Fira, on 2nd path in from the rim (ask your hotelier to mark your map). It has a roof terrace with awning and glorious view... and will reserve a specific t able if you just stop by ahead of time & point which one you want (but be there promptly at appointed time). Fine sunset, and all the traditional Greek dishes you can imagine, at about €17 a head including 1/2 liter of wine.

My innkeeper in Firostefani recommended the nearby Mama Thira, where I had a fine dinner. They may have had some tables with a view, but mine was not one of them. I had crab cakes followed by lamb chops, both very good. As I finished up, another table was served the fish and seafood platter, which had everyone staring, such a bountiful platter of varied grilled fish and seafood dishes.
