First time visitor to Santorini looking for lodging recommendations in Fira in late April. Have looked at many choices, and am thinking that Homeric Poems or Anteliz Suites would be good options for my wife and me. Any thoughts on those two or comparable hotels would be appreciated.
I would suggest that you take a look at Lithies Traditional Homes. Our stay there was magical! Highly recommend!
Homeric Poems is more high-end and in a nice quieter location; it’s also closer to access by car. Anteliz is right at the very top with great views, but just keep in mind it has a lot of steps, and the car will drop you off far.
Might look just a b it farther, to Firostephani ... Some clliffside hotels like Sunset Hotel... with huge shared roof terrace, and Hotel Mylos, all rooms have caldera-view balconies. Both are entered from the main N-S Street, so no steep descent down cliff face. These are an easy 20-minute walk down rimside path to the Cathedral promenade at Fira ... and to return to Firostephani without a steep incline, a "secret" flagstoned lane that runs to the left of that N-S road. Away from the hubbub, bypassed by cruise crowds, but easy access to FIRA restaurants, cafes, museums, nightlife.
Cosmopolitan Suites is excellent. On the caldera. Not a huge number of stairs. Very secluded as you are in a compound, yet in Fira.
