Final Itinerary - Greek Islands (Cyclades)

First trip to Greece!! So we are finalizing our itinerary for Greece (June 2020), 15 nights exploring 4 island of the Cyclades. (Milos / Santorini / Ios / Paros). We will spend a few days in Turkey before we arrive in Greece (Athens). It will only be me and my husband (both age 30) travelling on a tight budget.

According to flight schedules we will arrive in Athens at 20:45, so we would probably have to spend the 1st night in Athens (hear the Plaka area is best). Or should we stay close to the port? Any other suggestions?

I know people suggest to do Athens at the end of your trip. We will do another night at the end, but would refer to spend both nights at the end.

Our itinerary as follow:

1 night Athens (due to late arrival)

Ferry to Milos: 4 nights in Milos

Ferry to Santorini: 2 nights in Fira and 1 night in Oia

Ferry to Ios: 3 nights

Ferry to Paros: 3 nights

Ferry back to Athens: 1 nights
We only fly out the next night at 22:50 which gives as a full day to explore the Acropolis (not interested in Museums)

• **Not sure about the order in which we should explore the 4 Islands – Any recommendations? (We would like to do it the most cost effective way)

• Is it possible to get Ferry schedules for June 2020 in order to do proper planning?

• Best site to make accommodation bookings for the islands? In the past I have always used Booking.com

• Best site for Ferry bookings? Seems like the ferries is quite expensive.**

Comments will be much appreciated. Thanks in Advance :)

Fira and Oia are less than 10 miles apart, so I'd spend all my nights in one or the other. Changing hotels is a hassle and uses up valuable sightseeing time.

I believe lodgings on Santorini are very expensive these days.

I would agree to base yourselves in one location in Santorini. We spent 4 nights in Firostafani. We found it to be centrally located, away from the crowds of Oia, walking distance to Fira, and same Caldera view! They also have great public transportation. The bus stop was 5 minutes from our hotel.
