Ferry to Agistri

I am looking at taking a day trip to Agistri from Piraeus during my stay in Athens in early April. I have been trying to book via Blue Star Ferries, but I am unable to look past March 31st. It seems like they have not loaded the calendar with the ferry schedule yet. Is this a problem for anyone else? And if the ferry schedule has not been finalized yet, does anyone know when it will be? I would prefer to plan as far ahead as possible.

Hi,

Don't worry, the ferry connections between Piraeus and Agistri are frequent, the complete schedules will probably be published before your day trip.

You can also see with Aegean Flying Dolphins, in early April they have 2-3 ferries a day to Agistri

There will be transport, don't sweat it... and don't buy a ticket until you are in Athens! Why book ahead??? In the shoulder season, ferries will be 1/3 full at most. If you buy in advance u will have to pick up the paper tickets anyway, at an Athens travel agency, or at the booth by the ferry. And if you booked online and had to cancel or change, what a hassle. Take a chill pill, relax.

BTW, Blue Star would be the best, because their vessels usually are conventional "open deck" ferries, where you can sit out for the hour+ of the voyage & enjoy the seascape ... it's quite a picture out of Pireaus... on a sunny day, you can see huge cruise ships, freighters, 3-mast schooners, speedboats, tiny sloops ... gulls, maybe even a dolphin if y ou're lucky. HEre's a photo album of a day-trip to nearby Aegina, and the first few photos and the last 10, are of the view from a ferry Deck - much the same as for Agistri -- dellightful. http://www.flickr.com/photos/36264706@N03/sets/72157621604646139/detail/ It's a little mini-cruise. by contrast, Aegean Flying Dolphins are closed-cabin, assigned seats, limited view even from a window seat.
