Hi,
I recently booked a hotel in Naxos and am wondering how far in advance do I need to book the ferry from Piraeus to Naxos? I am in Athens 9/15 to 9/18 and plan on taking the ferry on the 18th to Naxos. I appreciate all the great suggestions about staying in Naxos. I am really excited to experience the "real"Greece! My husband is looking forward to a dive trip to explore the sunken British bomber.
In September, you would be fine just showing up, unless maybe it is a small hydrofoil or cat. For peace of mind though, pick up tickets the day before or when you arrive on the 15th.
In September no advance purchase is necessary prior to your arrival in Greece. If you're flying in to the Athens Airport you can buy your tickets right there from the travel desk of Amphitrion Holidays in the Arrivals Hall between exit/entry doors 2&3. They're open 24/7. Cash only, no CCs.
Thanks to both of You! Paul, I am originally from Dubuque.
Hello,
As a followup question - I am planning to take a ferry from Santorini to Mykonos (Aug 12), then Mykonos to Athens (Aug 14).
I realize August is peak time in Greece. Should I reserve ferry tickets in advance??
Thanks
