Ferry advice

Yikes. I wanted to avoid Seajets but they are the only one going from Santorini to Naxos next Wed. (Unless I want to leave at 3:30pm and get there too late to do anything.) Any advice? Should I chance it? If I do go Seajets (Andros or ChampionJet1) could I go outside or is it inside only?

Also, if I'm 90% sure about which ferry I'm taking before I leave tonight. Should I book it online so I can print out my ticket? Or is it just as easy/cheap to get it from a Travel Agent in Santorini?

There's nothing to worry about. The negative reports concerning Sea Jets are about the SeaJet 2 and the SuperJet, not about the much larger and much more stable Andros Jet and Champion Jet. They both have small outside decks at the rear of the ship. Just get your tickets once you're on Santorini. The price remains the same.

I took sea jets four times in July and they were all OK. And that was Seajets 2 and super jet. They were inside only and pretty crowded but they got you were you wanted to go, three out of four were on time and the other was only about half hour late. I booked my tickets on line but I still had to get them turned into actual tickets when I got there (totally easy to do though).

Aside from breakdowns or late arrivals and departures, the other significant problem with SeaJet2 and SuperJet is how they bob in the water like corks if the seas are rough from high winds. This is something you can't predict, so if your only option for travel is one of these then hope and pray that the sea is smooth that day.
