Ferries and Reservations in Greece

We will be traveling with another couple the first 2 weeks of September. After a few days in Athens, we are taking a ferry to Mykonos, then to Santorini and then on to Crete. After 4 days there, we will fly to Athens and then on to Corfu. I see that several ferry sites are now offering the ability to make reservations now for September. Would so appreciate any insight as to whether this is the right time to make reservations or is it wiser to wait until closer to our departure date?

In September you really don't need to book ferries along this route in advance. Seriously. Just do it as you go, from island to island. There is no shortage of travel offices where you can buy your tickets.

If you absolutely have to book in advance to rest easy just do so a couple of weeks in advance and pick up your tickets at the designated ticket office in Athens or on the islands, however you arrange for it. You can also buy these tickets at the airport when you first arrive from the travel desk of Amphitrion Holidays in the Arrivals Hall between exit/entry doors 2&3. Cash only, no CCs. They're open 24/7.

Thanks Lee - I so appreciate your information - I do like to have things taken care of prior to leaving so will take your advice and book a couple of weeks out.
