Thanks to Rick Steves' recommendation for his Athens travel book, we were able to secure Faye's guide serve its for our short stay. We spent a day and 1/2 with her and felt like we had know for a long time upon our first meeting. She is an archeologist, a life-long learner, and a young grandmothwr with a sharp wit. We appreciated her ability to keep us on a doable schedule, to answer my barrage of questions, and to entertain us with loads of historical information. Faye also recommended a trip to Sounion to see the sunset at Posideon. It was spectacular and after we were treated to a feast at a local village. Not only was the quantity and quality of the food outstanding but also the conversation with Faye and Panos- our intelligent, gentle driver.
I highly recommend hiring Faye if you want to get the most out of an impossiblely enoki use historical city like Athens. She is also terrific for many other parts of Greece.
