Extending a trip after Lefkada Island - Where to go ? what to see/do/stay

Hello fellow travelers -- My husband and I are finally going this summer to Greece. (June 19 - 26th 2023) First timers to Greece.

In fact, we are going to be going to a "luxury yoga retreat" for 7 nights, 8 days Nydri on Lefkada Island in Greece.

We were told that Lefkada is the only Greek island connected to the mainland with a bridge...

The question is if we extend and have a few extra days max 4 more nights ( and most likely at the end of this retreat) what should we do/see/stay? Just bought the guide book but trying to see if heading to another Greek Island ( like Santorini makes sense..)
We would have loved to do a Greek Island cruise like Rick recommends but I cant see how we can fit the time to work as end out retreat on a MONDAY...

Lefkada being in the Ionian Islands it would be easier to stay in this archipelago.

Santorini is an island in the Cyclades, far from the Ionian islands and without any direct means of access from Lefkada or any other Ionan island.

From different ports in Lefkada you could reach Kefalonia or Ithaca (the island of Odysseus).

These connections are not necessarily daily and the ferry timetables for the summer of 2023 are not yet available.

These routes will be provided by

Thank you all - I think we will rent a car and have it during some of the time we are in Greece.

I now think we may drive from Lefkada - ( get rid of the rental ) ---possibly stay a few days in Athens - then I would love to go to Santorini................. Looking how feasible this is - thoughts???

Please share your full itinerary--we'll need times as well as dates to help. I would do whatever will maximize your time--there are beautiful places everywhere--few as crowded as Santorini will be. You would have to fly to make it work and I only know of flights from Athens unless there is some small airport.
