Hi there -
My husband and I are taking a cruise and two of our ports are Mykonos and Santorini...
Wondering if anyone has had experience with cruise excursions in either of these places?
Anything you would recommend or to stay away from?

To be of any assistance I would need to know what the Santorini cruise excursions have on offer. I assume there's more than one.

In Mykonos go Delos. Variously called "The Birthplace Of The Gods" and "The Home Of The Gods". Absolutely outstanding look back at history. Google it and see what you think.

On our cruise stop we spent a lot more time on Delos than in Mykonos. Quick boat rIde back and forth, We thought it was fascinating. I don’t recall the details, but we did not take the ship’s excursion. It was very simple on our own. We strolled a little in Mykonos afterwards and had time for a pleasant waterside meal. Safe travels.

Depending on how long your ship is at Mykonos you should have time to get to the old harbour at Mykonos town and take the ferry to Delos first thing. I think the ferry costs 21 euros return. Delos can be done nicely in three hours. Bring water with you.
Return to Mykonos town and wander around or take the local bus out to one of the beaches. There is no need to use a ships tour. This is a great cruise stop with everything fairly close.
