Just returned from an excellent trip to Athens. We spent three days there ahead of a hut-to-hut hiking trek in northwestern Greece in the Vikos Gorge area (highly recommend!). Had a GREAT time in Athens. Spent a full afternoon with the incomparable Faye Georgiou, an expert guide who spices up the mountains of incredible knowledge she offers (we did the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum with her) with witty, funny and smart tidbits and anecdotes. She is a powerhouse and will make your trip to Athens unforgettable (in all the best ways). You can reach out to her online at https://archeologicalgreecetourswithfayegeorgiou.weebly.com/
Hello! Thank you for posting the guide recommendations. Some of the discussions on have seen on this forum say that your guide, Faye Georgiou, does not accompany the tourists on the Acropolis. Can you clarify she actually accompanied you on the Acropolis and visited all the sites on the Acropolis with you? Thank you!
Yes, Faye did accompany us up to the Acropolis.
Thank you for the clarification!
I will second what jnh4th says -- Faye is wonderful! She guided our group of 12 through the Acropolis and the Museum last summer, and she was incredibly engaging for all 4 hours, even for the teens/young adults in our crowd.
And yes, she is a fully licensed guide and will take you throughout the entire grounds.
Thank you both for the replies! Would you be able to share the rough cost for the 4 hr or the afternoon tour with Faye? I am trying to decide if this is an affordable option for us.
