Eurail Ferry Pass for Greek Islands

Hi everyone,

Has anyone used the Eurail Ferry Pass to get around the Greek Islands? I'm budgeting for a trip next spring and it seems like the pass would be cheaper for the below ferry routes:

1) Pireaus to Santorini
2) Santorini to Naxos
3) Day Trips to Mykonos and Paros from Naxos
4) Naxos to Pireaus

The trip will be my husband, 19 month old son, and myself. Does anyone know the process for upgrading to a cabin if you have a eurail pass? Was thinking about doing that for the first and last ferries since my son will need to nap during the ride.

Thank you!

About the Eurail Ferry Pass

Do not take this Pass.

There are 2 options 4 days $99 or 6 days $194 (both options for 1 person in economy class)

1/ You won't be able to do the trips you want to do in 6 days.

After this first point it is useless to go further, but I will do it anyway:

2/ It is only valid with Blue Star Ferries (which are among the cheapest ferries)

3/ It cannot be used for the cabins you would like to have.

4/ Blue Star ferry schedules have a 1 in 20 chance of matching your travel needs

5/ Assuming you want to be in the Guinness World Records by doing everything in 6 days, if you book direct with Blue Star Ferries the total cost of the ferry trips you plan will be around 160€ ($170) in economy class 1 person, instead of $194 with the 6-day Pass

@joLui - thank you for the information. I guess I thought that the pass was 6 days in a month, not 6 days in a row! definitely not doing that.

Yes you are right, it is 6 days in a 1 month period, but the problem with the 6 days pass is that it is only a 4 days pass if you are traveling only in the Greek islands:

"4 out of the 6 days can be used on domestic routes within Greece and 2 out of the 6 days can be used on international routes between Italy (Venice, Ancona or Bari) and Greece"

So it would be useless for you.
Even if you have 4 ferry trips on 4 different days during 1 month period, it will still cost you less by booking directly with the ferry company.
For this pass to be profitable, you would have to spend all your holidays on the ferries without ever disembarking from the boat.

As I wonder how it works, I read the details of the reservation process for this offer and I don't understand because they say that you have to go to the ferry company's websites and reserve the places normally. At no time in the booking process is there the possibility of indicating that you have this Pass and not paying the normal ticket price.

Anyway, for reasons of schedule compatibility, impossibility of changing economy seats into cabin seats, and the price difference, I'm sure it's not interesting for you. And if it is, I'm ready to offer you an all-you-can-eat "Greek Salad" package for 1 year :))
