Epidavros or Mycenae

Currently in Nafplio after being in Athens ( FYI: buy tickets in advance and Agora entrance very confusing) but tossed out my RS Greece travel pages thinking I would not have time to get to these sites.
If not both, which site have you found best and what do I need to know? Would be taking KTEL bus.

If you can visit just one, I would say Mycenae, as it’s much more important archaeologically. It’s a thousand years older than Epidauros, which is roughly the same age as what you saw in Athens. Mycenae is a unique site from a completely different Greek civilization. Epidauros, while well worth a visit, is one of a number of classical Greek theatres around the Mediterranean. If you’ve seen the Mycenean gold treasures Schliemann excavated in the National Museum in Athens it’s especially rewarding to see where they came from.

Mycenae if you're trying to cover ancient history sites/civilizations.

Mycenae first, Epidavros second but both are interesting and very important historic sites.

I would do Mycenae first.

Both sites are impressive, one was a military fortress and the other a healing center.

If you can do both do so otherwise it would be Mycenae as it's in a more impressive location with great views and the Lion Gate is a must if you are in the Peloponnese!
