We are traveling to Athens next year. I have booked the Emirates midnight flight from EWR to ATH in business class. I am trying to figure out my logistics getting to EWR from PHX (3 hr. time change). My nonstop choices both get me to EWR around 4:30 pm. Does anyone know what time the Emirates check in counter opens for business? I need to kill close to 8 hours plus recheck our luggage with Emirates. Any help and suggestions are more than welcome

As you are in biz class, do you not have lounge access?
I did not look but I would be surprised if they did not have a lounge and possibly showers.

Emirates uses the SAS lounge in Term B at EWR. My issue is if I land around 4:30 pm, I need to collect our luggage, maybe by 5 pm, then check in with Emirates to drop them off in Term B. The big question is when does Emirates start staffing the check in counter so I can drop off the luggage. Once the luggage is checked I can kill time in the SAS lounge.

According to this thread the check in desk only opens a couple of hours before the flight

I called Emirates and the telephone representative looked up EWR and the check in counter opens 4 hrs before the flight. It looks like I have a few hours to kill between landing around 4:30 and retrieving our luggage.
