In September we are spending 4 nights in Athens before boarding Celebrity cruise of Greek Islands and Turkey. My wife and I are in our mid 70’s. I am still fairly mobile but my wife is not. My concern is getting my wife up to the Acropolis and then around.
She refuses to be in a wheelchair. I have read there is an elevator or vermicular that will allow people with mobility issues to travel to the top of the Acropolis. Has anyone availed themselves of this ride?
What restrictions are there on usage?
Any information/experience with this would be appreciated.
There is an elevator.
However, the day I visited the Acropolis it wasn't working.
Several you tube videos you can search for on this topic.

There is only a small portion of the top that is paved and smooth. The rest is a scramble over rough terrain.
Thanks for the responses. I have tried calling a number that is supposed to supply information however so far it only rings. No pickup and no answering machine.
What others have said is true. Although there is an elevator to the acropolis park from street level the rest of the park is (mainly) not level pavement and not really for those on walkers/crutches.
