Easter Sunday in Athens

Greek Easter Apr 16 or Western Easter Apr 7?

Greek Easter—April 16.

I was there on Greek Easter Sunday last year and all the restaurants I saw were open. You will see so many barbecues on the streets going with whole lambs being roasted since that is the traditional meal for Easter. I was actually there on the Rick Steves Greece tour and we had our Easter Sunday lunch at a place called Gods’ Restaurant. They serve you the lamb including the head! We were on a Rick Steves tour after all so we had to have the authentic Greek experience. I’m not a big fan of lamb and fortunately, I had lots of other choices.

I was also there on Easter last year and restaurants were busy. You won't have a problem.
