Easter recommendations

Hello all! I’m leading a group of university students on a tour of Greece in April. We’ll be in Athens over Easter, and aside from a lunch that I reserved we have nothing planned for Sunday, because everything is very understandably closed. I’m going to attend the midnight services on Saturday/Sunday, but I thought it might be nice to do something like a self guided photo walk on Sunday. Any suggestions for where to go, or any alternatives? I won’t have access to a car, and I might have some students go along, even though it’s technically their day off. We’ll be staying close to the Acropolis. Thank you all for reading!

A fairly easy stroll from Plaka would be up to the Areopagus which is under the Acropolis but an open site. St Paul preached his Areopagus sermon from there. (I guess the clue is in the title.)

From there you can continue down to the hill of Philopappos. Walking up the pedestrianised road opposite the Acropolis you can take in the Church of St Demetrius the Bombadier, which is pretty and has an interesting story

Then head up the hill to the Philopappos Monument. Not particularly notable but brilliant views back across to the Acropolis.

That should work up an appetite!
